Lunar Eclipse in Libra: Release & Recalibration in Relationships

The winds of change are in the air as we rapidly approach the first eclipse of 2024, a Lunar Eclipse in Libra. If you are new to the world of eclipses, think of them as supercharged New and Full moons. Eclipses serve as karmic checkpoints in our soul’s journey, mirroring back to us what in our lives is in alignment with our deeper plan and where we need to course correct. They are an invitation to come into stillness, to go within and contemplate what is emerging through the shadow.

 Back on October 14th we had a solar eclipse in Libra, bringing our awareness to a narrative centered around relationships. This chapter is now coming to completion and in a few weeks the Solar Eclipse in Aries will initiate a new cycle. The energy of Libra highlights partnerships and balance, providing insights into how we learn about ourselves through the lens of the other. Libra reminds us that each relationship serves as a mirror, reflecting back lessons that our soul seeks to experience and integrate over this lifetime. Some relationships will inspire us to step into our power, while others will trigger the limiting beliefs that have kept us in a state of disempowerment. Both are medicine.

 The Lunar Eclipse in Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty, currently in exaltation (ie at ease) in Pisces. Venus is more intuitive and esoteric in Pisces, bringing our attention to soul contracts, both those reaching their point of completion and new ones ready to emerge. Pluto, the planet of transformation and growth, will be a key player over the coming weeks, uncovering unconscious patterns ready to be transformed around the way that we relate to the “other”. You may experience realizations regarding how you have sacrificed your own needs in relationships, avoided clear boundaries or dimmed your light in order to maintain harmony and peace. As we heal and strengthen the connection to our inner self by fully owning and honoring who we are, some relationships will naturally fall away. Others will grow and uplevel with us, illuminating the union of soul missions and potential to co-create something spectacular during this lifetime.

 The coming week is a time to reflect upon the relationships you have manifested in your life and the lessons they mirror back to you. As a Libra Sun and Pisces Moon, I have had an ingrained tendency to prioritize “the other” in my own relationships. The first time that I ever received an Astrology reading, I was given some pertinent relationship advice. The astrologer told me that until I fully embodied and asserted my masculine energy, I would continue to attract romantic partners focused primarily on their own needs. This was an important lesson, as each romantic relationship (as well as many friendships) reflected back from my unconscious a fear of asserting myself and owning my power. Through my healing journey, I came to understand the root cause of my people pleasing tendencies and rewrote the underlying narrative. This allowed me to invite in new and healthy relationships from a space of empowerment.

 During eclipse portals, it is not uncommon to see certain patterns or people from the past resurface. This provides an opportunity to delve deeper into your own shadow and healing evolution. Some people may come back into your life to help you integrate a lesson. Others will trigger you towards a breakthrough, illuminating old stories that have created discord and are ready to be rewritten.
